I was in downtown Bogota when I met this gentleman who offered to guide me and tell me everything about the government buildings and their history. He was obviously homeless or at least very poor. His knowledge and sharp criticism amazed me, we talked about globalization, China, the conflict between Colombia and Ecuador, he knew the history of Simon Bolivar. When I went to tip him he refused kindly and he said " I have been in You Tube, you know, I have been photographed by Dutch people, you seem like a nice man , please say good things about Colombia, this is a beautiful country." I invited him to a "tinto" black coffee anyway.

I really like this portrait. What an incredibly hard life has been etched on that face.

Thanks my friend! I had a great time with this fellow, I really liked his expression; the photo was commented in other forums here it did not register on the radar

Thanks again,

Andres
