Title: lens for canon 20d
Post by: jnaneshwars on May 21, 2008, 07:04:17 pm
I have a Canon 20D digital SLR. Although I have a lens for portrait and a telephoto lens of 300mm I wish to have a lens for all purposes i.e shooting subjects within 1m and upto 500m. Which lens would suit me? both for portraits and wildlife & nature shots? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

They're all going to suck.  Maybe try the sigma 18-200 OS.

If you're willing to go with more than one lens then there are some options.  (17-55IS and 50-250IS.)

Before anyone can offer a suggestion of any value, we'd need to know what lens you already have...as already suggested no one lens will give you high quality results in every situation you describe unless your images are limited to 4x6"
...2 lenses would be better if you enlarge.
