Title: Photo Printer on Network
Post by: Roger Singh on May 08, 2008, 05:11:25 am
Hi,

I finally picked up a pixma pro9500 recently.  My first inkjet printer since 97/98.   From what I remember, it was an Epson Photo Stylus 700.  That printer left such a bad impression with me that I refused to even look at another printer.  Until now

So far, I'm very happy on what the pro9500 can do.  I was able to convert it to the European pro9500 easily, and got myself a CD tray to print on cds (so no more lightscribe either).

Anyhow, I was a bit surprised to see that it didn't have a network port, so I ended up getting a Belkin Network USB Hub.  The printer works perfectly through the network now.

My question.  I've installed the drivers on one computer so far, and i did the automatic alignment.  Do I need to the automatic re-alignment again when I install the drivers on the other computers?

I assume you are talking about the hardware nozzle alignment? In that case, no. (N.B. I only have an S900, so YMMV of course.)

Thanks, And yeah you probably right.  It seems as Canon drivers speak to the printer by just sending it a print document with some codes on it.   And the printer does it all within.
