Title: Carry On backpack
Post by: soboyle on May 05, 2008, 09:45:15 am
I'm looking for a good quality carry on camera backpack, something less bulky than the lowe pro packs, which tend to be quite heavy and large. I've heard good things about the Think Tank Airport pack, any experience with this bag, or others to recommend? I'm more concerned with having less weight and less bulk.  I'll be carrying 2 dslr's, 4-5 lenses, etc.

I personally love Crumpler backpacks. Light, compact, well padded, weatherproof and can carry tonnes of items including laptop. I've used these for flying before and they've been ideal.

Best compromise between weight and volume that I've found is ThinkTank's Airport Ultralight.  I like how you can optionally include a laptop.

I have a Think Tank Airport Addicted and it's brilliant, but if packed [and it can carry a huge amount of gear] it's very slighty too big for the overzealous jobsworthys at UK airports. Remove back pack straps and don't overstuff font compartment and it'll be OK.

When full it's pretty heavy! But camera gear is.
