Title: Alexis Malkin
Post by: Andy M on May 04, 2008, 06:20:05 pm
I've only just seen: http://luminous-landscape.com/alexis.shtml (http://luminous-landscape.com/alexis.shtml)

Michael, I think this is an excellent idea and would like to forward my best wishes to Alexis and her family.

With friends like you and your wife, I'm sure Alexis' full recovery cannot be far away

p.s. I went for 'Antarctic Clouds' after a good few minutes of deliberation

I'm waffling between "Baobabs and Oxcart", "Red Dragon", "Death Valley Sunset" and "Eclipse".

Michael,

It’s a great person that donates money to various charities, but it is a far greater person that offers to “roll up their sleeves” and become involved.  You have truly shown a commitment to a friend and taken a logical path to fulfill that commitment by way of your print offer.

There are actually two friends you help by way of your commitment:
(#1) You help Alexis
(#2) All photographers that appreciate your work without the resources to buy your work.

I thank you for your efforts; and I get a great satisfaction in knowing my expense is helping a good cause.

Wishing the best to Alexis for a full recovery,
Tom O

Thank you all.

As noted on today's What's New, the response to the fund-raising print sale has been overwhelming, with hundreds of orders.

My wife Teya and I are truly appreciative, as we know Alexis will be as well!

This is a wonderful thing that you are doing, Michael. I just ordered the "Baobabs and Oxcart" print knowing that I will never get to see those trees in person in this life time. I have a wife with MS that I recently hand to put into a home and know full well the costs of this type of care. I'm fortunate enough to be able to pay most of the costs myself with help of my insurance. They say one good deed gets you ten back.
