Title: LLVJ 4-pk DVD's
Post by: dalethorn on May 03, 2008, 08:31:56 am
I really like the 4-pack series I have so far.  Am I going to be able to get LLVJ 13-16 the same way? When I go to the photo club meetings it looks much more impressive to show these packages than "Hey, look at these videos on my computer of these old guys taking photos in the park, etc."

Just wanted to add that, as I'm discovering LLVJ things that others have seen some time ago, the daguerreotype process video was most impressive. Maybe it's a personal engram, or perhaps the style is dictated by the shooting constraints, but IMO that's the way really good portraits should look. We have a number of old portraits in the family, including some small tintypes about 1-1/2 inches in size (example attached), and I suspect that 100 years from now, those classic portraits of the mid-to-late 1800's will be holding up a lot better than the "family-affordable" portrait studio prints of the past 30 years.
