Hey everyone.
How do apply the same sharpening preset to multiple photos? I tried selecting them all and pressing the preset button, but that only applied it to one. It's actually an entire folder I want apply the preset to.
How do I do this? Thanks.

Copy and paste?

Lightroom, I presume?
From develop, apply your preset to one of the images, then select all and use the Sync button (bottom right).
Other options under the Settings drop down...

You presume correctly (although we are in the lightroom forum)
now I only want to apply the sharpening to all the images, not copy all of the adjustments. You'd think you could simply do this, no?

Ah yes, the LR forum - I just look at new posts and don't pay much attention to the forum. In any event, from the sync menu you can just select the sharpening options.

This is one part of LR I don't like - it's not intuitive to find this function.
When you have multiple images selected, clicking the side panel selections only apply it to the first image selected.
If you however right click on the selected images and use the contect menu (sync or any of your presets) it applies it to all the selected images.
I wish you could simply click the presets on the side rather than having to use the context menus. There is no point to having multiple images selected and only effecting the first one.

Use AutoSync mode in Develop - it makes each Develop adjustment apply to all selected images. To enable it, Ctrl click (or on Mac Cmd click) the Sync button - you'll see its text change to AutoSync. It's the most efficient way to work.

In the Library module, under quick develop on the right of the screen, you can select a preset and it will apply to all selected photos. You don't even need to go to the Develop module!

Personally, I do most of my work in the Development Module, so *having* to go back to the Library module is an extra step for me.

You can still copy and paste in develop as long as you have the filmstrip open and select multiple images. Using key commands (command/control C or V) only works on the most selected image but Sync (or auto sync) will update all the selected images.

Yes, we already stated that.

And that's why I pointed out AutoSync.
