Title: Epson 4880 question
Post by: scott williams on March 18, 2008, 06:24:30 pm
I am considering purchasing a 4880 but am concerned about the ink switching problem.

What black ink is included with the printer?  Is it photo or matte?

When printing on Epson premium lustre paper, which ink is used?

I believe both are included:

Photo black is used for premium luster paper. You can call Epson Pro Imaging for any questions you may have, or your local dealer.

I just purchased a 7880.  Photo black is provided, I'm sure it would be the same for the 4880.  Of course you will want to purchase full-sized carts right away I would think.  Not certain about the lustre as I am a matte black printer on Somerset Velvet etc.  Good luck.  Make sure you shop around, you can get a good deal and should get free shipping unless you are buying locally, in which case it won't matter.
