Title: Canvas spray coatings and compatibility

I am beginning to print on canvas and need to know which spray coatings are compatible with which canvas.  Are they interchangeable or very specific?

Where can I learn about his topic--I have not been able to locate much.

I  like the Chromata white product a lot--Which aerosol spry can coating is compatible?

As far as I know there are no compatability issues with recommended products. Premier Art's Print Sheild and Eco Print Sheild do a good job with UV . In some instances the undercoating with a fixative e.g from Lascaux, Krylon or Latour may help. You should test your own situation. It is unlikely that different canvasses will require different treatments , but some inks may. I can only speak for Epson pigmented inks . Others might be able to comment on other products. The products I have mentioned are spray on. You can roll on Eco Print Sheild too. With the usually more viscous roll on products, you should check for cracking where canvasses are stretched around the stretcher bars

I am using ultrachrome inks and printing with an epson 7600.

I use Clearstar, the other one to consider is Glamour II.  Both are water based, and can be applied by a HVLP sprayer.  Both will work great with your 7600.

SERIOUSLY look into HVLP
Since you are already using Chromata, get the Glamour II and an HVLP setup.
Tried and true thats my proven combo.

*Using a Krylon or Kamar can is just a beginner mistake, sure you can do it but its gonna cost you waaaay more and isnt going to give you the proper coverage.
(not to mention archival properties are seriously questionable)

*rolling is a waste of product w/ less control and a downright pain...

Talk with anyone using HVLP with any water based product and they will confirm this same info.
