Title: 40D Raw Files and CS2?
Post by: DanPatrick on February 07, 2008, 09:28:51 pm
Recently purchased a 40D, which I like very much.  But CS2 will not process the raw files.  Is there any option available to me other than to buy CS3 or purchase another raw converter?  Dan

Convert them to DNG and open those in CS2.

The RAW converter in CS3 is vastly improved over CS2.

Alternately just use DPP.  It does pretty nice conversions.

Forgive my ignorance, but convert the files to DNG with what?  Dan

www.adobe.com

Hunt down DNG.  You'll find the converter there.

It's called "DNG Converter." It's a small executable file that Adobe make available for free. Should work well for you. I did exactly this process until I paid for CS3.
