Title: H3D, need help with testing.
Post by: Mike W on January 27, 2008, 01:11:24 pm
Hi folks,

My school just bought a H3D-31 with 28mm lens. The lens won't be used for some time since my school didn't insure the H3d yet, so we can't lend it for landscape work just yet.

That doesn't stop me from testing the setup in-school though...wich I tried and failed since the thing has a mirror-slap from hell and no cable-release.

Is there a Mirror lock-up & timed release I can set to simulate cable release & MLU?
Any owners out there who can help me out?

thanks,

Mike

There's a mirror lock-up button on the front of the camera, and if you go into the menu on top of the camera, you'll find a self-timer. The 28 is a gem...ak

Yes, as noted there is a MLU... delay... shutter... MU program that is available.  You can also set that to the user button.  Assign that to a profile and you are set.

Check out the manual.  I know, it sucks that they don't print one.

There is a cable release too.  Goes in the front of the camera near the hand grip.

Yes, the manual is a wonderful thing and would also have answered your questions.

The manual was MIA :-) Thought I'd ask here first, get some practical info.
Guess the manual is the way to go if I cant find the timer in the submenu.

thanks

You can set the shutter to delay up to 200ms after the mirror, really reduces slap, but you have to anticipate your shot more in action settings. Go through the custom options, it's at the end...

I think you can actually buy a printed one now?
