I have heard persistent rumours that a Hasselblad 203fe or 205fcc can be modified by the Hasselblad factory in Sweden to work with Phase backs.
Does anyone have any information on or know where I can get information on this procedure?
I am aware that C-series lenses can be used with the 200-series and the Phase backs provided the 200's focal-plane shutter is locked open. I am wondering if this "modification" allows one to use FE-series lenses and the camera's focal plane shutter.
Thanks in advance,
Brad

As far as I know Hassy 2000 with F shutter and a Phase back works.
I would have liked to use my Leaf Valeo 17 with a Hassy 2000 but it did not work. It did not even fit machanically.

According to Phase One on their forum (http://forum.phaseone.com/viewtopic.php?t=3225&highlight=200) in March '07:
"This [203fe camera with FE lenses] is currently not possible, there has been some request around this but since 200 series are discontinued by hasselblad it is not likely that support for 200/Fe lens combo will be implemented."
Has there been a change since then?

I thought 200 and 2000 cameras were identical. They are not. The 2000 series has a metal foil as a shutter, the 200 series has a fabric tissue. Does that make a difference? I don´t know.
I remember in the middle of 2007 there was somebody in the fs part of this forum selling a 2000 FC with 110/2,0 and 50/2,8 and a H20. The combination worked, he said. I asked him about the performance of the 110 after he sold his equipment and he said it was really sharp.

THe 200 series lenses are AMAZING!!!
You have two options.
1. Contax with a Zoerk Adapter
2. Mamiya 645 AFD with either a Zoerk adapter or the forthcoming Mamiya adapter.
Since Contax is gone i would go Mamiya and use the F series lenses.
I had it with the Contax in my Film days and I was unbelievable!!
Best of luck

Thanks, Ric. If it weren't for the stopped down aspect I'd be willing to go the adapter route. Still, it's a good plan B.

...the forthcoming Mamiya adapter...

Don't forget: the forthcoming Mam-HB-adapter will be v e r y expensive. I've ordered one at fotodiox.com. Fast delievery and no problems so far.

We have also received a third party adapter and have been testing it with V lenses on the 645afd II and it seems to work just fine. Set the camera to manual and you are off. The cool part is that the focus assist works!
It is nice to be able to show people that they can still use their legacy Hasselblad V lenses on the on the Mamiya 645AFDII seamlessly except being able to use a faster flash sync(which everyone does not need).

i have a 2000fcw with phaseone h20 and it works perfectly. triggers off the flash terminal.
I was the one selling it..... the sell fell through so I kept it.
combined with the 110 f2 is very nice.
