Title: what is going on
Post by: rueyloon on December 17, 2007, 03:56:50 am
what's going on ?

the first photo was shot at 0.5 secs, the other was at 1 sec.

I've seen this only after alot of shooting or after a burst of shots
when using my old Kodak pro back.

How do I overcome this ?!?!?

is this a defect ? or considered as not performing within specs ?

cheers

Better be more explicit about what you consider the images should look like ....

Is this your old Kodak back, or some other MF back ? Which model ?

Is it repeatable or occasional ?

This looks like what happens to me when the cable starts to fail that syncs the MFDB and the flash socket of the camera.

I believe the thing I'm seeing is "bucket overflow" or something, but at 1 second ?!?!?

This is the aptus 65

How does a sync problem causes a streaking effect ?

Looks like a cable going bad or an exposure setting that is set up wrong.  I don't know the Aptus software but in Flexcolor with an Imacon, if you set the exposure on the lens longer than the exposure setting in the software you get a similar problem (not as bad as this one).  My thought is start replacing cables or even your firewire. Hope it helps.

The streaking effect can be the data being pulled off the chip before the exposure is done.
