Title: About Mamiya lenses
Post by: Mike W on December 14, 2007, 09:26:49 am
Hi folks,

Sorry for posting yet another Mamiya 28mm topic...I'll keep it brief, and file it as soon as possible.

About the 28mm, I've noticed in 24x36 shots with a 20mm lens (MF equivalent= 28mm) that the lens flattens objects. Things like jars and vases get squashed.
Does the 28mm do this as well? How bad is it?

If so, is this an optical thing wich is unavoidable? Does the Mamiya 35mm have the same problem?

Also, the Mamiya 120mm macro...Anyone with first-hand experience? How is it's sharpness? This lens interests me because it can be used as a portrait lens, as well as serving a purpose in product photography.

Also note; I'm not yet in the market for buying these lenses. They interest me because I use their equivalent in 24x36 mm and these lenses are not available at the school where I use digital medium format cameras. I'm simply concidering my options.

thanks,

Mike
