Title: Latest firmware for Epson 3800
Post by: 01af on December 14, 2007, 07:15:21 am
Until yesterday, the latest 3800 firmware version I was aware of used to be o00573 (Mar 5th, 2007).

On the European Epson support page (http://esupport.epson-europe.com/), today I found a new version of the Epson Stylus Pro 3800 firmware, o02179. According to the name, it was released Sep 21st, 2007, but on that website it became available not before yesterday. I cannot find this firmware on the Epson USA website yet.

What does the latest upgrade fix/add to the previous version? I didn't find any information on Epson's website.

Yes, also on the Australian site - o01393_q.UPG

Strangely both the European and Australian sites also state that LFP Remote Panel V2 is required to install it. The problem being that the Euro site has V1.0b while the Aus site has V3.30 (Mac OSX)! Very confusing :-)

V2 or later.  3.3 as per the Aus site will use the _q version to update.

The nice thing about Remote Panel is that it won't apply an invalid firmware or downgrade you by mistake - it will only apply a valid upgrade firmware.

3.3 is current for both OS X and Windows.
