Title: Large format digital lenses on Mamiya 645
Post by: Anders_HK on November 22, 2007, 07:57:28 am
Is it possible to use large format digital lenses for wides on Mamiya 645 mount?

Examples (if not Schneider, other brand?);
Schneider APO-DIGITAR 24/5.6 COPAL #0
Schneider APO-DIGITAR 35/5.6 COPAL #0

Is there any adapter?

Regards
Anders

Probably Yes if you use a technical camera and mount the back on the rear.

Not exactly sure what you're asking, but,If you are meaning using a Mamiya body with the LF lens mounted to the body, you wouldn't be able to focus. With a 24mm lens the plane of focus at infinity is 24mm behind the lens, somewhere in the middle of the 645 body.

If you want to use any of the very good rodenstock/schneider lenses then on the mamiya it´s upwards from about 90mm. to get focus on infinity the best would be a 100 or 105mm componon. with the 105 mm i can just focus on ininity - not sure if one can reach  infinity with the 90mm apo componon.  i use an old cheap rodenstock all the time with a zörk multifocusthing on the ZD and the 5D. the new apocomponons and rodagons are probably the best lenses you can get  and absolutely incredible for close-ups.
