Title: Website Hosting
Post by: acutshall on November 05, 2007, 03:31:07 pm
I can not take it anymore... my website host is constantly changing their structure around causing me grief. And the hour log hold times are unbearable. Can someone make suggestions to a decent hosting company. Would not mind suggestions for a flash web designer as well.
Thanks

I like bluehost quite a lot.

I hated dreamhost.

Pair.com is extremely good.

I use Photium myself, they are excellent in many ways, especially what apears to be a good e-commerce side (which isn't enabled on my site). Only issues for me are that thumnails set at 600 pixels max and no matter how sharp they appear before uploading they seem to get added blur somewhere along the line and I'm too thick to figure it out.

Very good uploading, gallery and image management and they are always consulting about improvements. Not suitable if you want to key word though. They also do amonths free trial, UK price is peanuts -£7 a month or thereabout.

I've been with FatCow (http://www.fatcow.com/fatcow/index.bml) for 3 years now and I'm totally satisfied.

Avoid www.servage.net like the plague. I used to host my photography sites there until I got sick of the slow load times and constant SQL server crashes. I've since moved to www.liquidweb.com. They've been okay so far, but I haven't been there long enough to recommend them. Definitely avoid Servage, though, or you'll be as unhappy as I was.

Godaddy has never let me down - use code dltv or digg for a 10% off too!
