Title: Antartica Contest
Post by: marcvezina on October 04, 2007, 12:33:44 am
A question about purchases and entries in your Antartica contest.

I've bought the Lightroom v.1 + v.1.1 Tutorial, LLVJ 15 COMBO - Hi-Res at the time it came out (way back then...) and then later on the CameraToPrint Tutorial on the day it came out. Now how many entries into the contest does this count for?
1, 2 or 3? I mean usually contests are not retro-active...

Same for me!  Do I have to buy them again?

Yes, basically the same question - will customers who purchased your tutorial 'From Camera to Print' when it was first released be automatically entered into the prize draw? Just a suggestion, but it might help if you updated the 'What's New' page making this clear one way or the other which would prevent posts like this. Thanks Michael and regards.

If you go to the home page and click on `Win an antarctic photographic expedition`the paragraph containing the words     "If you have already purchased From Camera to Print you don't need to do a thing. You are already entered in the contest"  give a bit of a clue.........

Yes I know - but entries in the contest extend also to the purchase of Adobe Lightroom Tutorial, Video Journal #14, #15 or #16, or any DVD video. And as I asked before, is the purchase I made of the bundle: Lightroom Tutorial, Video Journal #15 also entitle me as well to 1 entry in the contest or 2 or none... Does the retro-activity extends only to the purchase of C2P?

I just would like a tad more clarifications on this.

From the announcement page...

If you have already purchased From Camera to Print you don't need to do a thing. You are already entered in the contest. Everyone who has purchased the download at any time prior to December 31, 2007 is automatically in the running.

and

Just to sweeten the deal we are going to extend the contest entry offer to include the purchase of any video download or DVD available through our store. This includes our Adobe Lightroom Tutorial, Video Journal #14, #15 or #16, or any DVD video. Each purchase counts as an individual entry. The more products that you purchase, the better your chance of winning. (Bundled multiple products count as multi-entries).

I don't know how to word this any more clearly.

Michael

Ps: Retroactivity extends only the the CTP tutorial. All entries based on the purchase of other products begins now. I have now added the word "new" to the last sentence to clarify this though.

So do we have a winner somewhere?  I would assume that the winner got notified immediately on 1/1 by email, but since I have to make some snappy decisions about my remaining vacation time, I'd like to be sure what the status is.

Happy new year to all and especially to the winner,
-Lars

I just got back from my vacation, and yes there is a winner. But, first I have to get over the stomach flu, recover from jet lag, and do my laundry.

I expect to announce the Antarctic contest winner some time this weekend.

What, the trip off the boat in the Drake Passage?

I hope to get a chance to go to Antarctica some day.  Gotta catch all the continents, you know:)  If I'd won this, I'd have had to more or less restart my equipment from scratch, it's just not made for that kind of journey.
