Title: 35mm lens for Leaf AFi/Hy6 - revisited
Post by: Rune Werner Molnes on September 25, 2007, 05:37:01 am
Hi,

I remember seeing the technical drawings of the Schneider AFD 2.8/35 PQS in a post somewhere in this forum.

From this I can only draw the conclusion that use of front- filters will not be possible, because of the extruding front element. (Presuming that the technical drawing is indeed authentic and correct.)

I hope that some of you can falsify this information, as the option of using filters is crusial for me and my style of (landscape) photography.

Best Regards,

No?

Does anyone have some information on this? Will we be able to use filters with the Schneider AF 35mm lens?

Thierry perhaps?

Thanks

Hi Thierry,

I'm looking forward to that information.

On a sidenote I just read the following in another recent thread on this forum:

"The 6060 back will not be available before the third quarter of 2008, given the minimum time needed to develop such a product. So until the 6060 back will be ready, the current film option will be 6x4.5 only;
- as I have said in several posts before, don't expect the 35mm Flektogon to be ready immediately. The designers were not fully satisfied with the first prototypes, so more work needs to be done. Expect the 35mm around the same time as the 6060 back."

According to this the 35mm lens will not be available before the third quarter of 2008??

Can you confirm this information?

Best Regards,

Dear Rune,

I can neither confirm nor deny this information, whether for the 6x6 film magazine nor for the 35 mm Flektogon. I have given my own information about the possible availabilty of these 2 products, and that is all I know currently.

What I think, with all due respect and without putting in doubt anything: if member "EPd" gives such important information about a product or its accessories he should give-up his anonymity and/or tell us the sources. I personally find it "amazing" to come-up with such information on the web and not citing the sources or under which cover he is acting.

This might be correct information given, but the way to announce it, under the cover of anonymity and though with this ascertain and "official" tone does not fit together, IMO.

As always, I shall inform myself and when knowing precisely and having details.

Thanks and best regards,
Thierry
