Does anyone have experience with a frame shop in Manhattan (NYC) that does mounting and framing? I need some Fuji supergloss prints mounted and framed for an exhibit in a Chelsea gallery. Since mounting these prints is very tricky, I need a place that isn't a large/commercial lab or frame shop. The kind of place I can ship my prints to, have them do the work and deliver to the gallery without me ever seeing the final product until the show opens. The frames will be custom painted, no mats, spacers, etc.
Thanks,
Doug

Also be sure to ask the gallery for suggestions.

Maybe I am too much of a control freak... but why would you want to not see the final product until it's hanging on the walls at the gallery? I am in Arizona so I cannot help you on where to send the prints... but I find that part odd. Again I am a bit of a control freak

Unfortunately, the one frame shop I could rely on to mount my prints has closed (sold to new owners) and won't be open before my show. I would love to do everything in my own town and I am a control freak as well so this is a leap for me. Thus the request to fellow photogs/artists on this forum. I have asked my gallery for recommendations and they have given me some names but wanted to see what else I could find out.
Thanks,
Doug

You can check the list of Professional Picture Frame Association members. PPFA is subgroup of PMA and shops that are members tend to be more proactive about staying familiar with print and mounting technology.
