I wish for a new Forum here where we could show and talk about pictures.
Lightning, retouching etc.
All this talk about what camera is best and how big is yours is
so boring in the long run IMO.
Maybe most of us will not reveal any " secrets " how we shoot and PP
our pictures. I wish it is not so, and we could talk and show freely.
It is still the vision and the eyes that sets us a part.
Maybe Michael could set up a new Forum here called
" The Picture - capture and PP "

I think there is such a forum already: User Critiques (http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?showforum=26)

I have looked at that forum and it is 99% landscape. So for me, and hopefully
a lot of others - not interesting.
It is a lot of landscape forums on the internet.
I was more hoping for something for the proffesional
fashion, beauty, and lifestyle guys.
Maybe also still life shooters. Everything but landscape
And not critique. More like sharing tips and tricks.
Discussion over capture and PP.

Trouble is that is where people want to go private invite only!
In a way cameras are boring - they are all great - nuff said
p.s this is luminous landsape - so you would expect landscape here !
most only landed here after the RG mayhem by accident

There's no rule that the critique forum photos must be landscapes. I've posted a variety of stuff there, and frankly, having something other than landscape on a regular basis would make the critique forum more interesting.
-
I would also welcome a post-processing forum with open arms. Right now all such discussions are deep in other threads. And the user critiques is not very suitable for that, since it's mainly meant for discussing specific shots or portfolios.
-
There's also the Digital Image Processing forum, specifically for what you do with an image after capture. There's no rule against posting a photo there to demonstrate an editing technique.

[span style=\'font-size:11pt;line-height:100%\']You have my Vote![/span]
However, you could try [a href=\"http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/photo-retouching/18738-best-retouchers-world-has-offer.html]here[/url] It is not as professional as it could be here on LL Forum, but you could consider it a good start anyway until we have one here dedicated to retouching techniques.
Perhaps it would be a good idea for LL/Michael to collaborate with X Retoucher on videos dedicated to cover Landscape Retouching, Interiors Retouching, Fashion Retouching, Beauty Retouching, etc. techniques.
Of course there are videos and videos..... on retouching techniques, but what they are is literally video manuals for CS2/CS3 etc. and obviously we are not talking about video manuals here.
This site has been a pioneer in many fields opening eyes to thousands of photographers, so why not?

I am for it.
I strongly believe in sharing knowledge. What goes around comes around. Have and had no secrets.
The same way as previously stated here that camera does not make an artist - technique does not make and artist either.

Well, a post-processing forum is not an image-critique forum. What is it that we want...? A PP forum?
Then you've got my vote.

pp forum section is a good idea. I spend so many hours doing pp and am always looking at speeding things up. Probably like most of you I have gatered a wealth of info and am ready to share.
I am indeed getting tired of the camera tech talk. Reminds me much of overhearing petrol heads talking how fast their cars go etc.
I think another good one is one that would deal with the business/promotion/marketing/presentation side of being a professional photographer.
Being aware that this is basically a landscape forum, most of my business comes from architecture and interior, so I also wouldn't mind a section dealing with the landcape of the build environment. on that note the landscape of the body could have an interesting section as well

Count me in. I hope Michael R. is keeping tab on how much support there is. Michael & his board might consider dropping one of the other topic/subsection, so not too much of their time is wasted in reformating the site.
That would really would be a nice suppliment to the "techniques" sub section.

I teach glamour retouching. I would love to see other viewpoints. The world is bigger than just Landscapes guys. It's all good.

Ok dump a few Raw images somewhere - I think you can even attach them to a post here, and we can have a retouch competition with our various solutions.
Just make sure you choose a pretty girl so it's worth it
As a sidenote, I bought "Skin" at Barnes & Noble, maybe I'll do a review here. Anyon else found any useful texts ?

Count me in as well. I agree that a separate post-processing forum is
more appropriate than everyone using the Critique forum.
