In my ongoing quest to get good 17x25 paper for my epson 3800. I am resigned at this point to getting a roll of paper I really like and then I am hoping I can find a way to get it cut at a reasonable price.
Does anyone have experience having this done? I am in San Francisco - so if you know of a place here that would also be great to learn. Thx.

Have you checked with http://www.bytes2print.com/ (http://www.bytes2print.com/)?
They carry both Moab and Crane papers and can do custom cutting. I know they offer Epson media cut from rolls. Can't hurt to ask if the can cut Moab and Crane for you, and they are just across the bay from you in Berkley.
Just a thought.

If you haven't checked out Red River, they currently have five 17x25" papers:
http://www.redrivercatalog.com/merchant2/m...gory_Code=17x25 (http://www.redrivercatalog.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=RRP&Category_Code=17x25)
These include a premium glossy, satin, brilliant white matte, and a natural and whiter finish of their Aurora Art 100% cotton. All of their paper bases are acid-free, with a slightly acidic coating on the glossy and satin. Also 17" rolls of all of these. Their prices are very reasonable.
I've just evaluated their large format sample pack of 14 papers - 2 sheets each - and have been very impressed with the results on my iPF5000.

thanks to both of you for great info!
I haven't tried the Red River...but I will get their sample pack.
Great tip on the place in Berkeley ...I will inquire with them.

Just a thought, but I imagine any framing gallery that cuts its own mats would be able to help you out...

Why don't you want to buy a Rotatrim cutter and cut it yourself? Just asking. It's an odd size and cutting it yourself would give you a fair amount of flexibility.

more good thoughts...
framing store is an idea...more likely to not damage the roll, surface etc, in theory.
buying a cutter is a possibility - i will look into that. mainly, i don't know how often I will need to do it, i don't have a lot of space, time etc. but it still might be the best option.
thx
