Title: Autofocus Contax vs Mamiya
Post by: stevecoleccs on August 12, 2007, 06:06:20 pm
Hi Everyone - does anyone have any "real" experience using AF on the Contax & Mamiya 645 AF2?
I know the Mamiya does have a "Spot" focus - most of my photography is lifestyle & more
than once I am in a low light area & need dead on focus. Right now I use the Contax, but the
focus area is too large - but I know the H3 works great.

Thanks.

I occassionally miss the spot focus on the Contax 645, but then I have used so may hassey and Leica lenses, that I prefer manual focus.

When you need it, e.g. in sports shots, I simply aim at the ground near the subject and it hits the focus quite well

Anyway, any critical focus will need manual adjust anyway, and the contax is just the best in the AF over ride mode
