Title: z3100 Media Offer
Post by: alanmcf on June 20, 2007, 01:21:56 pm
I have been printing landscapes on a 2200 (plus 9600) mostly on Epson Enhanced Matte. Now I get to order $300 worth of paper for my new z3100 24" and need some advice. The sample HP sent me on "HP Hahnemuhle Smooth Fine Art Paper" is gorgeous (and I don't mean the woman). I am also curious whether "HP Super Heavyweight Plus Matte Paper" is like Enhanced Matte. Any thoughts (including papers beyond the HP lineup) would be most appreciated.

Here is a link to the media offer which has been extended to July 31:

Thanks, Alan

I used my "up to $300" offer to get two 24" rolls of HP Hahnemuhle Smooth Fine Art.  I still print on Epson Enhanced Matte for proofing and some images with my Z3100.  My final images are usually printed on the HP HSFA , HP Pro Satin or HP Premium Instant-Dry Satin.

I don't have any experience with the HP Super Heavyweight Plus Matte Paper.

Oops... I just corrected my original post as the HP sample I liked was "Smooth" not "Textured" Fine Art paper. Yes, I too am thinking of two rolls of that paper.

Thanks, Alan

Do yoy have star wheel marks in your prints when you are using HP Premium ID Satin? they are vissble in an angle and in the dark areas in a print.

I haven't noticed any marks on my prints with HP Premium ID Satin.  I've been very pleased with the gamut and look of this paper.

I was wondering what the difference is between the Pro Sain and the ID satin. Has anyone tried both ? Thanks . I just ordered the 24" z3100 and shoud have it early next week. Looking forward to comparing prints to my constantly clogging Epson 4000.

The Z will not clog.
The Pro Satin is much thicker and heavier >300g/m2, a lot less optical brightner, a less blue white of paper, no HP logo on the back, a different surface, more resistant to kinks, with a good gamut.
By far one of the best HP media ever made for photographers.

Thanks Neil.  I will order the Pro Satin and Smooth FA as the free media on the rebate as they seen to be 2 of the most popular. Looking forward to the arrival of my new printer !!
