Anyone know if type III and IV CF cards are compatible with the Rebel XTI?

As far as I know, theres only a type I and II...

maybe you are referring to the  CF Extreme III and IV cards produced by scandisk.

Those are just product names and do not refer to compability.

The Digital Rebel XTi (or D400) can handle CF type I and II Cards.

Peter

PS: if you refer to the CF-Standarts of 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 I cant actually give you an answer

I use an Ultra II 2 GB and an Extreme III 2 GB with my XTi.  Both work well, the III is slightly faster writing raw files.  No problems with either one.

Rob Galbraith has a huge database of CF/SD cards. Unfortunately, the Canon 400D (XTi) isn't listed but the 350D (XT) is. I guess that performance for the 350D and 400D is in the same ballpark.

Just choose Canon 350D from the CF/SD Performance Database.
