Title: Which Kata Rain Cover for 5D
Post by: chicken on May 20, 2007, 03:26:25 pm
To get out more when the weather is "interesting" and after Michaels recent rave about Kata Rain Covers, I'm looking into buying one for my Canon 5D.

Now I see there are two models:
- E 690 for "small" SLR's
- E 702 for "professional" SLR's

Any ideas which one will suit best onto the 5D with medium sized lens (17-40 or 24-105) and no battery grip?

Thanks for your input.

regards
Adrian

If it's any help I purchased a package of "Rainsleeves" by OP/TECH www.optechusa.com.  You get two for about $7.  They're flexible plastic and cover both the lens and the body.  You insert your hand into them and hold the camera as normal.  I haven't tried them yet (not much rain these days in So California) but the idea seems good.

Plastic trash or similar bags are excellent, especially with pull strings. Punch hole at bottom of bag, pull that over the lens hood. Use some tape to fix it to the hood, then pull bag over camera. Not only cheap but also light in your bag.
