Hp has been very quite on this and even those testing were not given it prior to release. This PDF is all I have.

APS 1.2 should also be availible.

Thanks. The pdf is quite helpful. Looks like thry fixed a few of the irritating things in the driver. I'm anxious to try recalibrating and reprofiling some papers that I used the Fine Art >250 media setting on.

As always, I appreciate your knowledge and help here on this forum.

The windows driver is a big improvement but I have found a new problem with it where it finishes processing data and then doesn't print to the printer. To fix this you have to re-boot the pc and then prints again. To be fair, I do have a beta version so hopefully the final release fixes this.

If I hear anything else uselful, I will post it if I can.

Thanks, Robert.

I'm assuming that as before new firmware requires a new printer calibration.  Would it be wise to re-profile our papers as well?

I would recommend re-profiling if you have custom profiles as i am assuming that some of the work on the colour mixing has been included in the new firmware as per the PDF I attached.

Thanks, Robert.

I was glad to see the improvements in screen matching.  I was beginning to think I forgot how to calibrate/profile my monitor.  This was only noticeable for me on the fine art papers.

Now to install and test everything.

The screen matching is a function of return tables in the profiles. The output is not affected.
Only some of the media in the list will need a recal. Theory is one thing, reality is you'd be best to do a recal with the 5.0.4 as it should be the lat major rev for some time to come.
