Title: Because I don't have a Sherpa
Post by: Aboud on May 02, 2007, 08:30:51 am
Next month I am taking a trip to Scotland to a couple of islands to shoot landscapes and architecture. As you know, the airlines allow only two carry on items. One has to be my camera kit and the other my computer. I want to take my Contax 645, three lenses and support materials, but in a workable kit. I have been using a LowePro Stealth bag, but the weight on one shoulder is very uncomfortable. I have seen Lowe Pro sling bags advertised, and the concept does appeal to me, however, they all seem to be oriented to 35MM/DSLR format.   Do any of you know of any other brands that would work with MF or have any thoughts on the matter? I would appreciate your help.

Have a look at my recent articles on traveling to Antarctica and Brazil. I've found the ThinkTank International to work well, and then a Slingbag for field work.

I got this http://www.tenba.com/pc-534-3-prodigital-2...c-backpack.aspx (http://www.tenba.com/pc-534-3-prodigital-20-pb-17c-backpack.aspx) a year or 2 ago and love it. What I do is I travel with the backpack as carry on (fits nicely on the overhead bin of aircraft) and maybe another bag and pack an empty shoulder bag like a LowePro stealth reporter on my checked in luggage. Once at my destination I load the shoulder bag with the gear I need for that day and go about my business.
