Title: Tower Sitting
Post by: Valhalla on April 28, 2007, 04:26:21 pm
Something doesn't match in the location description for the Tower Sitting picture.  If it was on an island near Manaus then how could they be looking at the ocean which is 900+ miles away?  I like the photo, but remember towers like that on the ocean beaches and not near Manaus.

Why would you think it's the ocean? We were about 50 miles from Manaus.

Only because your description was "...with the fishermen watching the ocean...".  I've seen towers along the Atlantic, but not near Manaus, but that was 36 years ago.

I meant river, I wrote ocean. My mistake. Sorry.

I love images like this, as I can just imagine what would happen if a tower such as this were built in the UK.

First of all you'd have 'Health and Safety' having a hissy fit. The planning office would be circling you like headless chickens and you'd probably have (real) estate agents telling you it's worth £X00,000 due to its "amazing, breathtaking, fantastic, incredible views; its bright, fresh, charming, attractive decor; and its exclusive, executive, enviable, prestigious, upmarket location"

Nice image Michael, I'd originally thought it may be an early warning system for a tsunami or alike before reading your description
