Michael gives a positive review of the new, made in China, Induro brand tripods. They also offer Ball heads which look to be well priced. Does anyone have any experience with these heads and know if they work with Really Right Stuff camera plates?

I took a quick look at the Vistek website. Some (not all) appear to have a "dovetailed quick release" which LOOKS like an arca swiss style clamp. But I can't tell for sure. Depending on where you are, you might want to contact the dealer to make sure.

Thanks Paul, I'm a long way from the nearest Vistek, I'll contact them, yes I saw the pics and you are correct it "looks" like it may work. I'd still like an independent assessment of the ball heads tho.

These are I presume Chinese heads and might possibly be the same as Benro. If so, then take care. I read an online review of a Benro head, and the internal construction is shocking. Really shocking. For example, the locking knob works by pushing a screw into an aluminium surface. With time a groove is worn into the aluminium. I'm sorry I cannot find the review, but a Google might throw it up. As I say, they might not be the same as Benro, but then again ...
