I'm a beginner, searching for a good price on a Rebel XTi (black body only). Looked into USA photo nation, ShopcartUSA, and CCI Camera City (around $299) but saw many bad reviews. Can anyone recommend a trust-worthy place to buy the camera for a decent price?
Thanks.

B+H photo, Adorama, Buydig.com. Very unlikely to find it for less than $650 or so from any place that will actually ship one to you.

I ordered mine from Dell because with the 10% off coupon I had, it was about $622 + tax/shipping. When the estimated ship date was 4 weeks, though, I canceled and ordered from Amazon (which is really just ordering from Adorama via Amazon) and got it for a little bit more, but much quicker.

I bought my XTi from Amazon.com and my XT from B&H Photo. Both great places to do business with.

Amazon worked fine for me, decent price, low hassle.

Watch out for "buydig".
They sell "gray market" merchandise....the others might, too, but I'm sure buydig does.

I am not sure where you live, but why not try a local camera store where you can get answers to you questions and assistance if you have an issue with the camera.

That price is too good to be true. Two of the three places you mention have ratings of respectively 0.15 and 0.03 out of 10 on reseller-ratings.com - I would not trust them to sell a bagel to a New York cop. Go with your friendly local camera store or one of the well-known stores mentioned by other people in this thread. If you find a really good deal, *always* check reseller-ratings.com. Photo equipment generally just doesn't go on deep discount.

Nothing I bought from them was grey market. And they are listed as an authorized seller by canon. That said their prices are not that great these days.
B+H (and I think adorama) both let you know if you are buying usa or grey.

Thanks, all!!!
I did check the local stores but the prices were quite high (like around $800).

Another suggestion, 17th Street Photo in New York:

I bought my Canon 24-70 lens and some miscellaneous gear from them with great service. Prices are competitive.
They're selling the black body WITHOUT lens for $700:

I've been buying from B&H for years. They have competitive prices and a stellar reputation.
If you find a price far below that of B&H, it's a scam.
