Title: Z3200ps printing on thick materials
Post by: NackJich on March 31, 2023, 05:21:55 am
Hi I just wondered if anyone here has experience printing on to heavy card. I believe 500gsm is the maximum. I remember a previous head crash .. expensive .. on another Canon printer. I am thinking of making prints of artwork and would welcome any dos and don'ts!

from memory ii thought it can handle op to 0,9 mm thickness, but not sure.
this is what i would do...

make a new paper inside the HP Utility
give it a useful informative name
set the printing properties
set the paper carriage position to HIGH.
-
when loading the paper
load in a straight path above the spindle for rolls
choose a thinner paper and make it thicker (several sheets combined) in steps to see if the printer can handle your thick paper.
if not stop the printer immedialtely before dammage occurs
if yes use that paper you like

Thanks Kers. I like your suggestion of using several thinner sheets as a test. Brilliant...thanks. I will report back.
