Normally I don't care for images like this but I really like yours.

This is really well done. Almost too much to take in; get it printed BIG! One could get lost for hours in it. I suppose that's like the bayou.

Beautifully done.
It feels like pure Louisiana to me.

Thank you Mark, David, and Eric for your supportive comments.
The task for me in photographing these Louisiana wetlands is to make photos true to the subject and yet understandable to the viewer.
Unlike subjects such as the Welsh Coast with its simple power, these marshes and swamps are lush, fecund places with a profusion of complicated elements. I've found making them into appealing, relatable photos, takes more than a little practice and requires a whole lot of luck.
That you all like this is very gratifying.
Thanks again,
Richard

I like this one a lot. The moss produces some sort of haze when seen from a distance.
Well done!

I agree with all the other comments. This one really stands out from the crowd when it comes to swamp photos.

There's a mystical quality to the light reflecting off the Spanish moss that is very captivating to the eye.

Nice! Is it an HDR? As a nitpick, while you did a very good job taming the highlights, I still find them borderline too strong.

Thank you Francois, Arlen, Bob, and Armand for your good comments.
Armand, nit-picking is most appreciated. This is an HDR image from 2 files. I find with this much light it's necessary, tho I hope it's not egregiously HDR. And I know it's got some blown highlights. I could not get rid of them without losing the "mystical" quality Bob refers to or the "haze" Francois describes. When I sat there in my little boat looking at this scene, it was almost, but not quite, too bright to see.
