In the first half of December last year, I took off North with only a vague idea of where I intended to go. I ended up home after two weeks and about 3,500 miles under my belt, 1,000 more than I'd intended. On a loop including Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Utah, and back through Nevada to Arizona, I encountered long days and a BUNCH of snow! Because of the poor weather, I found myself wanting to make every shot count.
I wrote about the journey on my website here (https://www.davideckelsphotography.com/blog/walkabout-2022), but you can find the entire collection of images here (https://www.davideckelsphotography.com/2022-walk-about) if you want to skip the narrative :(. I hope you will enjoy at least one or the other.

Looks like a good trip! Nice words and images. I especially liked that one with the magic light (Snake River Sunset) and river and the mini Bryce images.
Do you recall what the name of that state park is?
Also, I live just a few blocks off that loneliest of highways but a bit farther East.

Outstanding photo essay on your blog. And it comes with this memorable line: "...when I opened the door I could smell lingering perfume from late-night assignations..."
