Eric - Some years ago I met a farmer in the remote northeast. He said when he was young he used to serve as a postman for the farthest farms on the Langanes peninsula which is like the back of beyond (I think the deliveries were once a week or once in two weeks). What a job, when you consider the lack of facilities in those days.
