I decided to go walkabout in the solitude of the western desert a day before one of the biggest storms in years approached the western US. FWD - priceless!
Inspired by Slobodan's series on Tuscany, I will post some of the later images as I go.
-
I can see John Wayne riding next to your FWD.
-
Sweet! You got it, Dave.

My first thought… What a classical beauty!
-
I am enjoying all these black and whites on here recently. Excellent shot David. ;)

Thank you, gentlemen. Three frame merge in LR at 120mm.
Merry Christmas to all.
-
Nice B&W.

Shoshone Dolomites. Not really, but part of the Shoshone Mountains.
Further along the walkabout; spectacular mountain range.

A bit reminiscent of the Italian Dolomites… I like this one. The sky is, again, perfect and I also like the right part of the frame. It gives a bit of depth so the shot is more than a massive trio of peaks…
Bravo David!

Both are really beautiful, David. A very productive walkabout.
-
Beautiful scenes and great processing!
-
Thank you, gents. I have a couple more I will post as I get to them. And I will write a blog on my website, but that won't post until after Christmas and New Year's.
-
These are great. I look forward to your blog.
-
Thanks Eric. And here's another, not B&W, but the colors were superb with the cliffs lit by the winter sun. Twenty-eight degrees (F) if I remember correctly.
-
Another excellent shot!
-
David,
Just keep on walkin' with your camera.

Enjoying this series.

Yes, keep walking!
Bravo

Eric, Richard, Rajan, Francois, I will seek to do just that. Thank you and have a terrific Christmas.

Peaceful Solitude
A little further on; a break from the snow in southern Oregon. Nobody for miles and miles.

Exquisite emptiness!

Thank you Francois; it was indeed exquisite.

Great series. I love to take a day (or several) and do this. Good for the soul.

Snow, north western Nevada

Well done, Dave!
You just may be giving Slobodan a good run for his money! :-)

Snow, north western Nevada
Almost looks like an IR shot! I love the snow on the distant hills and the sky is spectacular too.
-
Thanks, Larry, Slobodan has taught me so much over the years, tough but fair.
Francois, thank you. The diffuse light and the snow lent a low contrast air and I wanted to emphasize that.
Below, from northern Nevada looking towards the Oregon border. A stylized look at the road ahead.

Lovely set, David!

The sense of vast expanses of land is fantastic! The road adds a graphical line and steer the eyes to the horizon.
Bravo again.

Thank you, Eric, Francois. In case you can't tell, I'm having fun. Two more below:
