Title: Olympus Mons sunrise (Mars)
Post by: Guillermo Luijk on December 02, 2022, 06:53:47 pm
Not exactly a photograph but a processing of NASA altitude data from Mars. A Digital Elevation Map from Olympus Mons (the highest mountain in the Solar System having the size of France and more than 20km of altitude over the surrounding area) was used. Colour is a representation of altitude at each location, and luminosity depends on the terrain's slope and orientation (hillshade). The blend is done in Photoshop adding some extra curves to increase the sunrise effect.
