Title: Monitor colour testing for end users
Post by: BobShaw on November 26, 2022, 11:05:14 pm
A recent post prompted me to think of how the customers of our customers, ie the end users, can test their monitor if they think the colour of an advertised product is wrong.
We go to a lot of trouble (or at least should do) to get the colour accurate for our customers to put the product on the web, but ultimately they will be viewed by a someone who may have a monitor that is way off in colour.

So here is a Monitor Colour Tester. There is a link on my support page here

Let me know what you think.

Good idea. I'm fascinated by how few of my "professional" clients (i.e. - corporate, in-house creative departments) EVER calibrate their monitors. It's an ongoing tussle when they say, "The color looks off" and I ask when they last calibrated their monitor. Crickets. I say, "I calibrate mine every month", so I know they are accurate. I've had clients say, "Well, the consumer doesn't have calibrated monitors, so why should I?" I tell them so they know the color is correct even though 90% out there are probably looking at crappy screens.

It's a worthwhile endeavor you did this. Fingers crossed a few clients bother to use it.
