Title: Ipf8400 wasting 2" of paper when roll printing
Post by: Wheathin21 on September 29, 2022, 12:28:06 pm
I have and ipf8400 that I've been using for art repro. I've been asked to make a decent print run of prints. I sized everything in photoshop to print 4 11x14s or 11x17s off a 44" roll. Its printing just fine, however. After every print, it doesn't pull the paper all the way in. It prints for a little bit then cuts off a 2" strip off the roll then continues to print. I'm printing borderless, actual size in the printer driver, with no scaling in PS. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

That's the way the borderless printing works. It makes the print slightly oversized (i.e 11.3"x17") and then trims the leading edge to get a borderless print. I typically set up a print page that is 1" bigger than the height I need (12" for 11" prints). If you don't make the page size at least 1/2" bigger on both sides, the printer driver will reduce the print to fit. In your case I would create a page size of 12"x44" and then drop my 11" prints on the page and print.
