Title: Summer Castles
Post by: MattBurt on July 05, 2022, 12:59:55 pm
I like to come check out how The Castles are looking every so often. Sometimes on skis and sometimes on foot, depending on the season. This hike was a nice long one looking for another angle on this subject I had not shot before but I had to turn back due to incoming weather.
Before the weather hit I took a few shots of these mule's ear wildflowers in front of The Castles early in the hike. It was good light and good weather which was a much better scenario than with the torrent coming down on the return trip a couple of hours later!
This is a 3 image focus stack.

I grabbed this selfie on the way back. Didn't want to get the camera out here!

Great set with the Castles in the distance. The foreground is especially well chosen. It looks like rain was pouring… Bravo for the soaked selfie!

If the first composition catches the first or las light, would make for one hell of an image.

Like very much your selfie in the rain... and your positive mood on it.

Thanks! That's a great spot and a shot I've taken numerous times over the years.
The rain was exceptional and just got heavier as I drove home. My Subaru was complaining the the EyeSight feature couldn't see well enough to function.

Morning light hits it very nicely (the Castles more so than the flowers). I just need to drag myself out of bed so early this time of year it's hard to do.
I should just do it anyway if the flowers survived the hail.

Thanks! We've had drought conditions for quite some time so any rain is considered a blessing!
