Subtle early morning tones require a dark frame to see properly
-
Beautifully clean. The dust gives a very special mood!

Thank you, gents, I was a little worried it might be too dark. Printing may be a challenge.
-
What paper(s) might you choose?
-
Generally, I use a luster paper, but I might try a matte canvas. Either way, the dark tones will need to be lifted without destroying the mood.
-
Delicate mood indeed to print... very fine photograph!

Hope you'll us know how your print of this compelling foto turns out.

If I were printing this image, I'd opt for Hahnemuhle Fine Arts Baryta or Canson Platine fibre rag.

Bob, can you please elaborate? I've never tried these.
-
Quite nice. I do find it a little bit dark, but at the same time it conveys that moment when the night transitions to day.
-
Thanks, Paulo, the darkness was intentional not because I screwed up the exposure :D It was a challenge to process and it will be even more challenging to get it printed appropriately.

They're simply my two top choices for printing images with deep hues. I've used the Canson paper for years, and the Hahnemuhle FAB for the past nine months. HFAB has a bit more texture to its surface, while Platine is more of a luster sheen.

Custom or mfr ICC profiles?

Thank you, Peter, O how I wish Slobodan could read what you said! ;)

I use the manufacturer's profiles, and print from PS.

Thanks, Bob, I will give it a whack. Leaning toward the Canson.

Good choice, but do keep the Hahnemuhle in mind for a future print. Both are great, but have different purposes and effects when printing.

Beautiful image, David. I fairly often end up with darker images like this, that I love on screen but which lose most of their magic when printed without brightening them considerably. I frequently end up brightening just a bit, printing, brightening some more etc. until I get something that looks reasonable under normal lighting conditions. About the only thing I've found to prevent having to do that is to have a space on a wall that is very well lit, often with an art light above it. I have to like it an awful lot to go to that extreme though.

Arlen, thanks and I appreciate your comments and agree. I keep looking at this, liking the mood, and have to figure out whether I like the challenge of printing it or really like the photograph!
