Title: Tedious idiocy
Post by: PeterAit on May 02, 2022, 10:58:33 am
I *STILL* cannot read articles after logging in. After the first paragraph the text is hidden. I know I am logged in because my name and photo display in the top right corner and I have a "log out" link. Is there no competent person running this web site?

Sounds like your paid subscription isn't being recognized by the site.

I'm logged in and see my name at upper RHS, but I also see the same blanked out text.  That's because I no longer subscribe.

Yes, Peter, we are here. Have you sent a query to our Webmaster? I'll try and help you out. Please send the email you'd like to correspond with to me.

Sorry for your frustration and ongoing trouble..

Are you a subscriber? And logged in as a subscriber? Seeing "logout" means you are logged in, not that you are logged in as a subscriber . I am not a subscriber and I see the "logout" too. Because I log in as a forum member.

Odd. Not a member either (anymore), logged into forums, I see this:

As I have written in a similar thread, I am a subscriber.  I have to log in with the same details separately a) to the articles and b) to the forum

Today, I made a discovery! I've complained for many months about always being prompted to subscribe/login even though I'm a subscriber. Today, instead of accessing LuLa via my menu of sites, I did a Google search, found LuLa and accessed the home page from Google. No advertisement!

Apparently, the difference is that I had saved the LuLa URL as www.luminous-landscape.com years ago but Google linked to https://luminous-landscape.com. I changed my menu to link to https://luminous-landscape.com and the advertisement no longer appears.

I don't understand all I know about this but the irritating advertisement has disappeared for me!

I'm glad it worked.

This could be useful for others in the same bind.
