Title: photo rearrangement in folders
Post by: hsteeves on April 16, 2022, 12:34:07 pm
how do I re-arrange the order of the photos in a LR picture folder?  For some reason, the drag and drop thing just doesn't want to work for me.

In the film strip or in the library grid view, drag from the image in the thumbnail, not from the frame that surrounds it.

You also need to have the "Sort " button at the bottom of the screen in Library / Grid view set to custom.

Jim, in my version of Lightroom (9.3), the sort can be set to any of the twelve named choices offered in the toolbar and it switches to "custom" when the thumbnail is moved.

yes, I finally figured out my issue.  It was as Jeffrey said.  And as I was rearranging my photos, I remembered, 'I've done this before'  ... too many concussions.  I'm lucky to walk out of the house wearing pants.
