Title: Bracket fungi
Post by: Bob_B on February 10, 2022, 09:44:23 am
One of the photos I came back with after an afternoon hike. Please feel free to comment, and thank you for stopping by.

You have to keep up the hikes! Good for your health as well as your photography!

They are pretty nice. I think it would be more balanced if the bracken on the left side was almost equal to the right side. It would appear more rhythmic. But I guess that was not possible. Just personal taste - I think I would try to darken the striping and reduce brightness on the middle trunk, see if that makes the striping pop out more.

I like the left/right balance, but I would crop out the bottom 20%, to eliminate the large area of bare trunk.  It also looks like the closest fungi may be slightly out of focus?  The out-of-focus sides and background are pleasing.  If you go back, maybe try for less contrast lighting?  Still a great shot, worth perfecting with another visit.

Seconded.

Those have a likeness to mushrooms (which, if are recall, are fungii, too).

Nice one!

I agree about cropping a bit of the bottom.
