I recently started to print such that when matted I have the full image and a 1/8" white border between the image and the edge of the mat window. That is, if my mat is 11" x 14" with an 8" x 10.5" window I print on 8.5" x 11" paper and size my image at 7.75" x 10.25", giving me that 1/8" white border inside the mat window.
Alas, the printer will give me an image that is enlarged to 10.5" x 7.9", notwithstanding that I double-check to ensure that scaling is 100% in the print dialog box, with scaling disabled.
This is a recent development, and indeed only started occurring after I installed a software update prompted by Epson.
Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

Make the print and measure it. Only then cut the mat.

Thanks for this... but I'm working with a large stock of pre-cut mats.

Which application are you printing from, i.e. where you set the print dimensions?

In Lightroom click zoom to fill. All borders set to 0 in Page setup and in Lightroom layout set the appropriate border on all 4 sides. Your print preview should show exactly what is to be printed. In the event your image is not exactly 7.75x10.25 zoom to fill should fix that. (With minor cropping)
