Title: Minolta LIght Meter question 4 vs 5 auto
Post by: kevs on October 16, 2021, 10:33:54 pm
I have a Minolta auto 5f and just got 4 for backup. The used 4 works fine but display black text on the used 4 is much lighter than my 5. Is that a bad sign or was the 4 much lighter display when new than the 5 when new? Thanks

(For those who have owned both)

I'm assuming you're using new batteries.

That is an important consideration that readers should fess up to before posting + assuming.
I've got a very old III so I can't comment. Nor will I assume; pointless.
Now this might be useful to examine and report: Do the two produce the same measurements (+/- a tad)?

Thanks Dog good point.. and ... Alan..

Ok maybe good news, next day today, the display of the 4 is looking a bit darker, so maybe if it was not used in while the black crystals need  1/2 days to get in action and get dark?   But was worried on that... maybe the display on this model, or lets say rated Fair condition, not just because exterior, which is actually fine, but display is not strong, which they the seller did not show photo of.
