Title: Replacement Fuji NP-W235 battery & dual charger
Post by: Dave Gurtcheff on September 25, 2021, 07:41:14 pm
Any recommendations for third party battery (to use as a spare) and dual battery charger? ebay is loaded with them, but any personal experiences?
Thanks

I've been reasonably satisfied with the Wasabi-branded NP-W235 batteries.  You haven't entered a location in your LuLa account profile—you're not in a witness-protection program, are you?—but if you live in the United States, you can purchase two of them with a single-bay charger from various retail sources for less than the price of a single Fuji-branded battery.  In my experience, they don't charge as fully or therefore last as long as their OEM equivalents, but if you're going to carry around multiple batteries for a day's worth of shooting, anyway, I think the trade-off of performance for price is justified.

Thanks Chris. I live in NJ, no witness protection program! I am an 84 year old amateur, so if I get a lesser number of shots from a back up battery, no worry. I also use Sony, and have a Wasabi brand dual charger, and it seems OK, but I have no experience with their batteries. I will give them a try.

Thanks all. I ended up ordering a Wasabi battery, and Wasabi dual charger for NP-W235 batteries. It came to $36.98 free shipping. I have used their chargers before, but never used their batteries, but the consensus seems to be their batteries are fine. If the charge does not last quite as long (this will be a spare battery), that is OK. As an 84 year old Amateur, I have a limited number of shots in me! ;-)

Thanks again

You're a few years ahead of me, to be sure, but don't bet against yourself.

There's some nice work on your website.  Why not post some of your pictures in the Landscape Showcase forum?
