From a few days ago on my way out to photograph something else, but the morning light shining through the glen was just so yummy, that I couldn't really drive on by this view without grabbing a pano shot to show you all.
Yes autumn is just starting to happen up here on the North West coast of Scotland, so for those of you who can make up here in time, get ready to fill your boots, because I think this year is going to be a doozy.

Lovely!

Very nice, Dave. I'm still trying to convince SWMBO that a late autumn trip to Harris is a good idea.

Everything that has been said thus far.

Thanks guys,
Yes it really was just a drive by shooting really as I was going to somewhere else to shoot the earky autumn colouors, but as I have always said, you have to shoot it when you see it, or you might never see it quite like that again.

Go for it Bill, we already have a week booked for North Uist in a few weeks time, but Harris is certainly worth a visit - and for anyone who wants to see a few pictures of the locations I have been covering in one of my recent free photo tour guides (of which there are 3 for the Outer Hebrides), then click here (http://skyephotoguide.com/extra/outerhebrides/harris.html).
Cheers..

Hi Alan,
Thanks for that, but unfortunately I am not a fan of his work and believe me I have tried watching him in the past, as he is obviously very good at photo-vlogging and very popular with his audience as a result, but his pictures don't seem to be anything special to me, so nowadays as there are so many vloggers to look at, I just stick to the ones that I do like, with my favourite being Nick Carver, followed by Gavin Hardcastle and his lovely partner Amanda (who always makes us laugh), then Adam Gibbs, Michael Shainblum and Nick Page.
But hey thanks for the heads-up Alan and as Mr Heaton has been covering my island (by saying "my island" I mean where I live and not that I own the place), then I will definitely give it look.

Well I have just watched Thomas Heaton and his friend, hiking down along the entire length of Skye with my morning cuppa and a crusty slice of buttered toast and very enjoyable it was too - both the video and my buttered toast, so thanks for pointing that link out for me Alan. He also avoided nearly all of the honey pot locations on Skye during his 4 day hike along the ridges, so I really do have to commend him for that.
Yes very enjoyable ;)
