Sorry if this is too simplistic to post. My new NEC MultiSync PA311D should arrive this week. I'll be conncecting it to my PC Windows 10 RTX 2080 ti. Both the new monitor and this PC/video card have more plug-in options than my earlier setup (NEC PA241W). So, I'd like to know if there are advantages to the various connection cords over one another. Thanks for your thoughts.

AFAIK, DisplayPort (aka Thunderbolt + adapter on a Mac) is to be preferred against HDMI or DVI. Don't remember the exact reason, something concerning bit rates or the like.
I assume USB-C is comparable with DisplayPort in this regard, having the advance of supporting the connected device (notebook, tablet...) with power, too...

I'm on a Mac so my comments may not be accurate for you: DisplayPort.

The NEC website says that there is a DisplayPort cable included with the display, so that's what I would use. I can't think of any reason to purchase a different cable type since your card has that connection.
