Love them all.  #4 is my favorite - there is serenity in the storm.  Very impressive!

Very dramatic, esp. the first one. I might push the contrast a bit further to darken the rain bands at the top of the photo and lighten the low-lying cloud hugging the mountain (lower right side).

fantastic series, i can feel the impending doom that's about to hit.

Well done, Armand! If I had to choose, I'd go with #1 or a "horizontal version" of #3. If it was me, and it's not(!), I'd open up the blacks in the mountains for #4 so the exquisite layers are just visible in the print. Congratulations on a terrific series.

Wonderful and very moody. #1 is my favorite but #5 has something special that also grabs my attention. The other three are also exquisite.

Thank you all!
The sky was quite impressive although when I was on the exposed ridges the lightning and thunder looked less compelling. I started the hike with hail and rain, my decision to wear sandals and shorts paid off when the sun came out for a little  ;)

A great series, Armand.

Most of them could be picked as my favorite at different times. Today it happens to be the second.

Thank you Eric!
All are my kids but while some are more spectacular, my favorite is the third.

That's a good choice, but be careful: The others might get jealous!

Excellent work Armand. Maybe you should like the lady on the radio who told this story.

Her mother was dying, so so she brought her kids in one at time to say good bye. She said to them all, each in turn without the others knowing, 'Don't tell the the others but you are my favourite, and she wrote each a check, partitioning everything equally.

But I am partial to the third also.

Me too, that one grabbed me right out of the gate. But don't tell the others I said so; each has its own appealing features.

The first one is incredible, almost too good to believe. The second one is more subtle and I like the successive ridges a lot.

The first of the new two is amazing.
I don't think I've ever seen am image with such a limited tonal range that is so powerfully expressive.

Bravo!

Bravo, as already said. But I would like to ask, why does the first image have such a gritty consistency? Is it the atmosphere?

Thank you Francois, Eric, John and David!

It's a mix of things. Started at iso 640 (which isn't much for a Z7 but definitely worse than base), went into Nik Effex Silver where I started with a preset that added a significant grain, which was accentuated by the post processing because, as Eric mentioned, it does have limited contrast and the file had to be be pushed more to get what I wanted. All these being said, I could have made the grain much less noticeable but I decided it fits the atmosphere.

Found a couple more. All these were taken on the same trail area over the course of 3 days.

Whatever the processing, it's a powerful shot but thanks for taking the time to explain how you produced that shot.
